Ms. Burch has over twenty years of experience handling complex appellate and trial litigation matters and business disputes in state and federal courts around the country.  

Ms. Burch has successfully represented clients on appeal in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. She has also assisted other attorneys in representing clients successfully on appeal. Some of her appellate cases include:

Although Ms. Burch now focuses her practice on appeals, she has significant trial court experience. On the trial level, Ms. Burch has repeatedly obtained summary judgment and/or dismissal of claims against her clients prior to trial through successful motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss.  She also has significant  trial experience in jury and non-jury trials in state and federal court including:

  • Successfully defending major appliance manufacturer and service provider in a jury trial the Superior Court of Cobb County, Georgia;

  • Successfully defending major pharmaceutical company against pregnancy discrimination claims in a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia;

  • Successfully representing Middle Georgia county in non-jury trial of county boundary line dispute before Special Assistant Administrative Law Judge;

  • Effectively defending a local manufacturing and installation company in non-jury trial in Magistrate Court (settled confidentially post-trial);

  • Successfully representing manufacturer in a 4-week jury trial of its claims for damages for destruction of business in United States District Court for the District of South Carolina; and

  • Effectively defending an automotive manufacturer in jury trial of products liability claim in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
